Yes, if it had not been pouring down and I was not just recovering from a bad case of bronchitis, I and my wife would have picketed in front of the Hotel where Armstrong Williams and Strom Thurmond was being honored by the Washington urban League.
I respect Maudine Cooper and understand her motives: bring people together of unlike persuasion for the common good. And I would not be surprised that some of her Board members reflected in the sentiments of Strom Thurmond and Armstrong Williams. If so, we must ask who are these individuals and what sort of contributions have they made to the cause of Black progress. Also, ...
