Mike Ditka Buys La. Restaurant
NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Mike Ditka has spent the past two seasons trying to Ditka-ize the New Orleans Saints. Now, a restaurant is in for the same fate.
Mike's on the Avenue, where for the past decade chef Mike Fennelly mixed the flavors of the American Southwest and several Asian countries, was sold to a group headed by Ditka.
The new fare will feature the flavors of New Orleans with the steak-and-chop-house fare of Chicago. And, of course, there will be a new name: Mike Ditka's Restaurant.
