Braves' Smoltz Off Disabled List
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Atlanta Braves reinstated right-hander John Smoltz from the 15-day disabled list and designated right-hander John Hudek for assignment on Saturday.
Smoltz, sidelined with a strained right elbow, was scheduled to make his 16th start of the season against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday night.
He was 8-3 with a 3.49 ERA before going on the disabled list July 5. He made two rehab appearances at Double-A Greenville.
