N.C. Player Charged With Rape
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina defensive tackle Brian Norwood was arrested Wednesday and charged with raping an 11-year-old girl.
Norwood, 19, was charged with two counts of first-degree rape, three counts of first-degree sex offense of a child, three counts of felony crime against nature, and two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child.
A grand jury indicted Norwood and nine other men on sex charges resulting from a series of incidents alleged to have occurred two years ago.
Richmond County sheriff's investigators say the 10 men, some of them in their 40s, raped the girl several times.
