POUND RIDGE, N.Y. (AP) -- Just as spring bulbs are at their flowering zenith, catalogs rain down on us offering next year's bulbs. Talk about deja vu.
But there's method in the madness.
For what better time to decide what you need in bulbs than when your current efforts are on display? The daffodils you thought would carpet an area turned out thinly spaced. You'll need many more bulbs to create the desired effect.
And, also, do you want a uniform effect, a change of variety, some of both? The catalogs dazzle you with varieties.
