Much of the furor over Charles Murray and Richard Herrnstein's book, The Bell Curve, seems to have died down, but the full impact of this scurrilous work on African Americans is not yet evident. The book is related to white America's surly need to scapegoat in the mid-1990s. The Bell Curve is based on a pessimistic, angry view of America.
