Tenn Restored Mural Of Jubilee Singers Back At Fisk.
A 120-year-old mural of the Fisk Jubilee singers who performed for Queen Victoria in 1873 has been restored and is back home at Fisk University's historic Jubilee Hall.
The mural was painted more than 120 years ago by Queen Victoria's court artist, Edmund Havell.
"The painting is 120-years-old, so there was considerable loss over the years. It had been restored in the past so it had two canvases plus the original," said chief conservator Carmen Bria of the Western Center for the Conservation of Fine Arts in Denver.
