Unitas tackles prostate disease.

Former pro football great Johnny Unitas was in Detroit March 22 to tackle a more serious opponent than an opposing player: prostate disease.

Unitas, 64, is promoting the Benign Prostate Enlargement Awareness Program. The prostate is a walnut-sized gland situated in front of the bladder. It is common for the prostate to become enlarged in men over 50. This restricts the flow of urine making it more difficult to empty the bladder, resulting in a more frequent need to urinate. Unitas has the condition.
