'Renaissance Man' has Detroit connection.
Filming for 'Renaissance Man' began Sept. 10, 1993, in Detroit, and Detroiters will spot many familiar sights when they view the movie. Among them are the Renaissance Center, American Coney Island and Tiger Stadium.
Another familiar sight to anyone who spends much time in Detroit is the scene where Bill Bago (Danny DeVito) is stuck in a traffic jam on East Jefferson.
In a recent Chronicle interview with Devito and director Penny Marshall, they described the surprise they were greeted with when trying to film that scene.
