Charles R. Henderson Elementary School, 5650 S. Wolcott Ave., held a special celebration program last Friday afternoon for 17 special young men involved in a rites of passage program at the school.

Unlike many other countries, America does not have a consistent system where a boy knows that it is his time to be a man. In Africa, boys will be asked to perform various acts to prove their manhood and have strong role models to emulate.
