`We shall love the stranger as ourselves'.
On Pesach we are reminded, "You were once strangers in the land of Egypt." Strangers, indeed! Even slaves!
Nevertheless, the Torah says, "You shall not hate the Egyptian because you were a stranger in his land" (Deuteronomy 23:8). Rashi explains, "because you found residence in his land."
As the peace process continues between Israel and the Arabs - even if at times that process seems to limp - there is willy nilly more contact not only between the diplomatic/political level, but also between ordinary people.
There are interesting discoveries being made on both sides. The "other side" does not have horns. ...
