LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A respiratory therapist who confessed to killing dozens of hospital patients but then recanted has been sued by the family of a man who died while the therapist was on duty.

The Superior Court lawsuit against Efren Saldivar was filed Friday by the estate and heirs of John N. Schwartz, an elderly man who died at the Glendale Adventist Medical Center hospital on May 31, 1993. It claims wrongful death and negligent infliction of emotional distress upon the family.

The suit also names the hospital. It is the first suit filed in the so-called ``Angel of Death'' case, which has not resulted in any charges against ...
