31 Die in Kenya Train Crash

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) -- A passenger train in Kenya derailed early today, killing at least 31 people, the Defense Department said.

Five non-African foreigners were among those killed in the accident on the edge of Tsavo National Park, 155 miles southeast of Nairobi, according to the Defense Department. Their nationalities were not immediately available.

The Kenyan armed forces flew some of the injured to Nairobi for treatment, Defense Department spokesman Nicholas Simani said.
