GOLF: Malaysia spends big on Tiger, O Meara and Monty
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 AFP - Organisers of the World Cup Golf Championship are spending
$US1.4 million ($A2.16 million) to entice Tiger Woods, Mark O'Meara and Colin Montgomerie to
the tournament, reports said today.
Woods would receive $US700,000 ($A1.08 million), O'Meara $US500,000 ($A770,000) and
Montgomerie $US200,000 ($A308,000).
The money paid to the trio was $US100,000 ($A154,000) short of the $US1.5 million ($A2.3
million) in prizemoney for the November 18-21 tournament, the Star daily said.
Organising chairman Abdul Aziz Ismail said the three were being paid to "conduct coaching
