Black music honored at IAAAM conference.
Celebrated singers, producers and top executives from major record labels were in town recently for the International Association of African-American Music's (IAAAM) Black Music Month celebration.
In its fifth year, the IAAAM conference drew about 1,000 music professionals, aspiring artists, and luminaries including political activist and comedian Dick Gregory. Congressman Chaka Fattah, Motown CEO Jheryl Busby, Grammy award winning sax man Grover Washington, Jr., hip hop producer and entrepreneur Jermaine Dupri. Da Brat and singer/producer/songwriter Kasif.
