News and Views: Why "Black" and Not "African American"?.
The name "African American" just doesn't work if the mission of one's publication is black people everywhere, including black Africans, Caribbean blacks, South American blacks, and black people of European nationality.
Several readers of The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education have asked why we decided on the word "blacks" in the title of our publication.
