UVM Medical Students May Have To Work In Vermont For VSAC Grants.

University of Vermont medical students may have to promise to work in-state to qualify for state grants under a proposal being drafted by school and college loan officials.

That comes on the heels of concerns by some state lawmakers that too much money goes toward medical students rather than helping first-time undergraduates to get a college education.

"It just occurred to me that what was more important at this point was to make sure that all Vermont kids get an opportunity to get some higher education," said Rep. Sean Campbell, D-Rockingham, chairman of the House Appropriations ...
