School Union 47 and Bath Board of Education members did something Monday
night they have not done for three years. They talked.
They discussed ways to improve communications between the school systems,
like e-mailing Board of Education agendas to Union officials, sharing test
score information, and having their superintendents meet more regularly to
resolve administrative problems.
Though progress was made, participants left some of the larger issues, such
as giving School Union 47 members voting representation on budget, educational
and curriculum matters, to future meetings. Under the current system, School
