MLQ's Quezon City, 'The Filipino Metropolis'.

Fifty-seven years ago, the visionary Manuel Luis Quezon, then President of the Philippine Commonwealth, vowed to give social justice a tangible reality by creating "a working man's paradise" and building "a real Filipino metropolis."

The culmination of that dream was the creation of Quezon City from the barren stretches of cogonal land into a well-planned city of man named after President Quezon (whose 117th birth anniversary is commemorated Aug. 19)--
