Melvin Van Peebles has written, directed, produced, and composed music for, as well as acted in many movies and plays for the past 30 years. Some of his projects have been considered very controversial. "Panther," his most recent film, which he produced with his son, Mario Van Peebles, portrays the history of the Black Panther Party for Self Defense.
