Universal Church saga: What really happened.
When pastors preach about wrestling with the devil, they usually indicate some of the constant excitement that awaits churchgoers in everyday life. However, the congregation at the Universal Church in Jamaica has had more than its share of excitement.
At about 8 p.m. on Sunday, a female member of the flock phoned police and excitedly reported an invasion of the church's sanctuary on Sutphin Boulevard by a man with a gun. Patrol cars were dispatched immediately and when they arrived it was like landing in the middle of a Dessert Storm battle.
