Human Rights Watch board member offers resignation; union busting at core of dispute
The head of Phillips-Van Heusen Corporation, who is under fire for shutting down the company's only unionized factory late last year, has offered to resign his post on the board of directors of Human Rights Watch if the factory closing was an "embarrassment" to the human rights group.
"I told Human Rights Watch I'd be happy to resign from the board if this was an embarrassment to them, and they told me absolutely not because they know the facts," Bruce Klatsky, the chief operating officer of Phillips-Van Heusen, said. Klatsky is also a member of the board of directors of ...
