Gathering Place offers help for those touched by cancer: Life-enhancing free services at new wellness center.
"Your whole life changes when you get a diagnosis of cancer," says Norma Geller. "It's like entering another country."
Geller entered that "other country" seven years ago when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer at age 59. Surgery and ten months of chemotherapy followed, and the former social worker, who lives in Shaker Heights, recalls how difficult it was to cope with cancer, emotionally as well as physically.
"One of my biggest concerns was `what am I doing to my family?'" says Geller, who has four grown children, three of whom live out of town. ...
