Gangsta rap describes bits of reality in urban society.

Gangsta rap is being blamed for many of the social ills in contemporary urban America.

According to its opponents, "It is culturally deforming children, destroying them and training Black people to be not fit for a decent society."

If we take this assertion to its logical conclusion, then all we have to do is to turn off radio stations and Black Entertainment Television (BET) featuring gangsta rap, remove gangsta rap CDs from music stores and ban the sale of personal boom boxes in inner-city neighborhoods in order to have a civil and equal opportunity ...
