News and Views: More Black Faculty Statistics From the Halls of Ivy; This. Time From Brown University

In 1985 the administration of Brown University promised its best efforts to hire seven or eight new black faculty members by 1990. Now, a full decade later, Brown has achieved a net gain of four black faculty members. But the percentage of the total faculty at Brown who are black exceeds that of many of its Ivy League peers including both Harvard and Yale.
