Alan Palmer, the author of the scholarly work under review, is not a Turcophile; thus, he devotes considerable space to the fate of the Armenians in the final years of the Ottoman Empire - a fairly lengthy chapter is titled "Armenia, Crete and the Thirty-Day War." What he has to say, however, many not be agreeable to our revolutionaries and political activists I general who like to project the image of idealists dedicated to serving the interests of the people.
