A Woman's Shadow Box Dream: A Child's Doll House.

Karen Collins was inspired to do shadow box miniature doll houses because as a child she and her sisters always wanted a doll house. This inspiration encouraged Collins to design, build and present a shadow box miniature to General Colin Powell upon his visit to San Bernardino on Sept. 27, at the California Theater.

General Powell laughed and said his wife has doll houses and miniatures, and she was going to love her shadow box. Collins had help with this project. The miniature painting of General Powell hanging on the wall was done by a Nigerian painter named Okay Babs. Susan Chandler created ...
