(The State News) (U-WIRE) EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan State University hockey team continues the defense of its CCHA title with a home-and-home series against Ferris State this weekend.

After sweeping Ohio State last weekend, No. 4 MSU (4-1 overall, 4-0 CCHA) expects more of a challenge Friday night against the Bulldogs (3-3, 3-3), who are coming off two victories over Notre Dame.

MSU head coach Ron Mason said puck possession will be key for the Spartans' success, since Ferris State is a good defensive team "capable of jumping on you to score goals."
