Over 40s fail to stick to low cholesterol diet Newspoll
A survey shows Australians over 40 are ignoring doctors orders to cut down on cholesterol.
The Newspoll survey reports 73 per cent of those questioned could not follow the low-fat
diets devised by doctors.
The over 40 age group are most prone to high levels of cholesterol, a leading cause
of heart disease which every day claims 80 Australian lives.
Leading cardiologist Dr DAVID COLQUHOUN says it's worrying that 41 per cent of those
who failed to adhere to the diet fell into the 40-49 age bracket.
