DHARMASHALA, India, Jun. 7 (IPS) -- The exiled Tibetan spiritual
leader, the Dalai Lama, says China's latest tirade against him and
crackdowns in Tibet are signs that attitudes in Beijing are
hardening on issues like Tibetan independence, Taiwan, Hong Kong
and the United States ties.
China recently took its criticism of the Tibetan government in
exile, and the Dalai Lama in particular, a notch higher. It also
banned photographs and public showing of portraits of the Dalai
Lama in Tibet.
A vitriolic attack in The Tibet Daily newspaper recently said
the battle against the Dalai Lama and his followers was one of "You
die, I live" ...
