Vic: Half a million Australian women suffer from violence

Australia's federal sex discrimination commissioner says almost half a million Australian
women have been abused in a single year, making the she'll be right attitude no longer
acceptable.

SUSAN HALLIDAY, from the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission, has launched
a video detailing the previously untold tragedies of 14 Australian women.

The testimonies, of domestic violence, rape, childhood abuse, torture and poverty,
were filmed while being told to the first Australian Tribunal for Women's Human Rights
in May.
