Fed: Calls for political inquiry into fuel crisis misguided

CANBERRA, Jan 14 AAP - Calls for a political inquiry into the fuel contamination grounding
the nation's light aircraft are entirely predictable, but misguided.

While Australians are naturally prone to blame everything that goes wrong on government,
in this case there seems little more the federal government, or any of its agencies, could
have done to prevent the problem.

There are legitimate questions about whether CASA, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority,
should have acted sooner or more forcefully to deal with the problem.
