(The State News) (U-WIRE) EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Resident assistants and future RAs may have more reasons to apply next year if Michigan State University approves a proposal to offer more training and raise their pay.
The Department of Residence Life proposed changing how it operates within the next 18 months. Changes would include additional training for RAs in areas such as multicultural competence and learning environments.
The training would help residents recognize their biases and combat them, and, among other things, deal with the transition from high school to college and maintain academic integrity, said Ann Bolger, director of the Residence ...
