Fed: Wool growers support Australian Wool Group bid

CANBERRA, Feb 29 AAP - The majority of growers supported the Australian Wool Group's
(AWG) bid for the wool stockpile, executive director David Sasson said today.

The AWG has held 12 grower meetings around Australia since launching its bid for the
wool stockpile in Armidale in January 31.

Mr Sasson said exit polls at the meetings, attended by about 500 growers, showed over
70 per cent support for the AWG bid.

In late January the AWG made a $560 million offer to wool growers for the wool stockpile.

The offer comprised 20 cents in cash, 60 cents in AWG shares and 30 cents in five year
