Qld: Supreme Court rules CJC bugging unlawful

BRISBANE, March 24 AAP - The bugging of a National Party worker's bedroom by the Criminal
Justice Commission (CJC) four years ago was unlawful and a breach of confidence, the Supreme
Court in Brisbane ruled today.

Matthew Heery was the subject of a investigation during a CJC inquiry into the circumstances
surrounding the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) by then-police minister
Russell Cooper, former premier Rob Borbidge and Queensland Police Union secretary Gary
Wilkinson.
