LEADING hotel chains are gearing up to take advantage of the bright
tourism prospects in Cambodia's Siem Reap - near the world famous Angkor
Wat archaeological site, following the return of peace and the town's opening
up to international flights, Cambodian tourism minister Veng Sereyvuth
said.

"A Sofitel hotel will be opened this October and Francebased Pansea
Hotel and Resorts will also open a [fourstar] hotel soon", he said.

Pansea already has hotels and properties in Laos and Thailand.

Many other hotel chains, such as Thailand's Imperial and Oriental
groups, and the French Club Mediterranee ("Club Med"), were interested
