Fed: Hospital staff use mobiles while phone lines down

SYDNEY, March 30 AAP - Staff at a country New South Wales hospital were forced to use
mobile phones for nearly four days because the main phone lines at the hospital were down,
a state MP said today.

NSW Country Labor parliamentary leader Tony Kelly said Mudgee hospital, in the state's
central-west, reported problems with two key phone lines to Telstra on March 13 but the
problem was not fixed until March 16.

The lengthy delay in getting the lines back up had potentially put lives at risk, Mr Kelly said.
