Article: Penn State pounds IU, shuts out Purdue

(Daily Collegian) (U-WIRE) UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- When Penn State softball coach Robin Petrini said she was expecting a dogfight this weekend, no one took her literally.

While the Lady Lions were in the midst of a 16-0 pounding of Indiana, a black labrador retriever and a boxer were fighting each other.

Penn State hosted Indiana on Friday in a doubleheader, which the Lions swept, winning the games 8-1 and 16-0.

The next day, Penn State faced stiffer competition when it hosted Purdue and won the first of a two game series, 2-0. The second game of the series was cancelled due to cold temperatures and a bitter wind-chill and will not be rescheduled.
