DENVER (AP) -- When retirees think of blue chips they usually think of price stability, security and steady, healthy dividends.

Blue chips -- Coca-Cola, IBM, Procter & Gamble, GE, to name a few -- have long been a mainstay in the portfolio of retirees and those nearing retirement. But in today's market, stability, security and dividends are no longer a given among the blue chips, an investment expert at the College for Financial Planning says.
