BASE: Major league freeze could boost Aust baseball medal hopes

SYDNEY, April 25 AAP - American major league baseball is likely to halt its competition
for Olympic Games from 2004, opening the door for Australia to call on its major league
stars.
American baseball commissioner Bud Selig today confirmed the major league was looking
at freeing its players to play in the Olympics after this year's Sydney Games.
The move would allow the US to field its own version of the Dream Team, following in
the footsteps of the American basketball side.
