Freddy Garcia goes on DL
SEATTLE, April 23 (UPI) -- Seattle Mariners righthander Freddy Garcia, a 17-game
winner as a rookie, has a hairline fracture in his right tibia and will miss
four to six weeks.
Garcia and outfielder John Mabry, two of four Seattle Mariners injured in Friday
night's victory over Kansas City, were placed on the 15-day disabled list
Saturday.
Garcia, 23, left the game with what was initially diagnosed as bursitis in his
right knee after trying to cover first base on an infield single in the third
inning. He allowed one run in the 10-2 triumph.
