ATLANTA, April 25 (UPI) -- Tom Glavine pitched a three-hitter and Quilvio Veras
drove in the game's only run with a fifth-inning single as the Atlanta Braves
ran their winning streak to eight games Tuesday night with a 1-0 victory over
Kevin Brown and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Brown won 18 games and struck out 257 batters in 1998 for San Diego, yet
finished third in the Cy Young race behind Glavine and Trevor Hoffman.

A similar scenario unfolded Tuesday night for Brown (1-1), who was activated off
