(Daily Texan) (U-WIRE) AUSTIN, Texas -- Despite recent indications that Gov. George W. Bush and Arizona Sen. John McCain's meeting would be called off, the two are set to meet May 9 to discuss campaign finance reform and a possible McCain endorsement of Bush.
The meeting was in jeopardy as recently as last week, following tensions between the two campaigns.
An April 27 column in the Chicago Sun-Times by political commentator Robert Novak reported that Bush advisers "anticipate[d] all pain and little satisfaction" to come from the discussion with McCain. The advisers said they expected neither agreement on the campaign finance reform issue nor the ...
