Coogan Is Confident, Brantly Is Not

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Mark Coogan and Keith Brantly were teammates on the 1996 U.S. Olympic marathon team. This year, there's a good chance they'll be separated.

The exuberant Coogan comes into Sunday's Olympic marathon trials as one of the favorites to make the three-man team. Although he has not run a marathon in two years, he won his last two races at shorter distances, and, as usual, is bubbling with confidence.
