(Colorado Daily) (U-WIRE) BOULDER, Colo. -- The CU track and field team competed in the Cardinal Track and Field Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., Friday and three Buffaloes earned automatic trips to the 2000 NCAA Championships as a result of their efforts.
The highlight of the evening for CU was the performance of junior All-American Kara Wheeler, who won the women's 3,000-meters in a time of 8:54.82. Wheeler's time is the first sub-nine minute performance by a collegiate woman this year.
