The Foreign Minister of Bhutan recently paid an important visit to
our country. A country's foreign policy must reflect the region it belongs
to. It should not only count on the amount of foreign aid it can receive.
Bhutan was the first country on this planet to recognize us as an independent
country, when we were engaged in a life-and-death struggle against the
Pakistani occupation forces. Since then our relations have developed irrespective
of the changes in governments. This writer was talking to a scholarly journalist
who is a former ambassador and was invited to the silver jubilee celebrations
