MANILA, Aug. 20 (IPS) -- Filipino musician Ryan Cayabyab's
career path has been stoked by an enduring anxiety. Afraid of being
just another composer who is talented but poor, he set about
building a career that blends artistic acclaim with financial
success.
Twenty-five years later, at age 42, "Mr. C," as he is known to
adoring fans, can look back with some satisfaction on a career that
left a legacy. Cayabyab is no "starving composer." Arranging and
