(Independent Florida Alligator) (U-WIRE) GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- University of Florida student government officials have taken the first step toward setting up a student-run campus radio station.

Mark Berkins, appointed by Student Body President George Kramer, will head an exploratory committee to figure out the logistics of starting a radio station.

Berkins said his committee has favored establishing a low-power FM radio station on campus situated on or near the Reitz Union. He said he expects the station to be funded by SG and receive an annual budget from the Student Senate.
