Study: Dads Work Harder After Birth

SEATTLE (AP) -- Research shows fathers work longer hours after the birth of a first child, and the increase appears to be greater if the child is a boy, a new study says.

The two University of Washington economics professors who conducted the study say they don't know why the disparity exists, but one possibility is that spouses interpret their roles differently according to their children's gender.
