LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Need an adrenaline rush? Want to laugh? Feel like a good cry? ``Animal Planet'' -- that all-animals-all-the-time cable channel -- is fulfilling the emotional needs of an increasing number of human viewers.
According to the A.C. Nielsen Co., the Discovery Channel spinoff is growing faster than any other cable outlet. Launched in October 1996, Animal Planet now attracts over 60 million subscribers.
Around-the-clock viewers of all ages obsess over creatures great and small, from tough old crocs with very sharp teeth to precious little pussycats with bruised paws.
